Disney Dreamlight Valley features several multi-stage friendship missions that challenge players to search every corner of their magical community. Among these scavenger hunts, the quest titled Collect 'Em All: Strangers from the Outside serves as the second major alien recovery operation for Buzz Lightyear. Completing this assignment requires patience, careful exploration of villager homes, and an understanding of the game's unique spawning timers.

How to Unlock the Quest

To begin this specific mission, players must first finish the preceding quest, Collect 'Em All: Little Green Men. Approximately 48 hours after wrapping up that initial search, Buzz Lightyear will offer the follow-up task. Speaking with Buzz activates the search for 15 missing alien toys scattered around the valley.

Understanding Alien Spawn Timers and Locations

Unlike standard gathering tasks, the alien toys in this quest do not appear all at once inside villager houses. On the first day of the mission, eight alien toys will spawn across various homes belonging to your Disney neighbors. You will need to wait approximately 36 hours for the remaining seven toys to appear in additional residences.

Checking every villager home thoroughly is essential because the toys can appear in unexpected corners or behind interior furniture. Players should inspect locations such as Mickey's House, Goofy's House, Donald's Boat, Merlin's Tower, and Remy's House. Interacting with Buzz multiple times can provide helpful clues about which locations have recent alien sightings.

Tips for Tracking Down Tricky Alien Toys

Some players report difficulty finding the final missing items due to visual clutter or clipping bugs near walls and furniture. Adjusting game audio settings to lower background music makes it significantly easier to hear the sparkling sound effect emitted by nearby alien toys. Moving slowly around corners and listening closely often reveals hidden toys tucked underneath beds or stairs.

It is important to keep all gathered alien toys directly inside your inventory rather than storing them in chests. The quest counter tracks items carried by the player, so transferring them away can cause temporary progression confusion. If an alien appears completely stuck behind fixed items, restarting the game or waiting for a patch may be necessary.

Quest Rewards and Subsequent Progression

Once all 15 alien toys are successfully retrieved from villager homes, return them to Buzz Lightyear to wrap up the mission. In return for your efforts, Buzz rewards you with a helpful Space Ranger Supply Kit filled with useful crafting materials. Completing this quest also sets the stage for the next installment, Collect 'Em All: Attic Mode, which unlocks after another waiting period.
